Professional
I’m a remote-first designer with 11 years of professional experience who asks a lot of WHY and HOW. I believe that research, user testing, and measurement is critical in driving the design process. I support open communication between product, engineering and design to ensure that business needs are always balanced with technical capabilities and the needs of the user. Other skills include:
Developing research and measurement plans
Facilitating design-thinking workshops
Presenting concepts to internal and external stakeholders
Building and maintaining design systems
Designing for ADA compliance
Designing for flexibility and implementation of white label products
Mentoring new designers
Implementing efficient tools and processes across design and product teams
Making people laugh and finding humor in the day-to-day
Process
In most cases, the design process is iterative because technology and human interaction with it is constantly evolving. Every project and team may have unique nuance, but the most successful and impactful work I’ve contributed to focuses on the user and includes these six steps in the process:
Discovery
Ideation
Prototyping
Testing & Learning
Iteration
Delivery & Quality Control
Have fun!
Personal
I’m currently based in Southern California and before that, Baltimore, Maryland. I’m a two-wheeled enthusiast, who mountain bikes several days a week and likes to cruise on my motorcycle. I sweeten my coffee with honey and my favorite band is Delta Spirit. I love my people, but a Siberian husky named Rory is the true #1 in my life.
